Welcome back. The beginning of a new semester in 2010 is exciting and the first week is hectic.
I will try to ease this start-up time by posting course information here and on my web site. Below you will find what I expect we will cover this first week. All daily assignments will be noted and easily copied, if needed. Please check this site frequently and remember it might be modified.

This is the last week of the term. All Geography students are reminded to check their work to make sure all assignments are in, every mark will count. Review at this time is so important. Please attend the study sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday after school. These one hour sessions will cover climate, weathering, resources and mapping.
Your final exam is on Monday, Jan. 25 at 9:00 - 12:00

As you know there are two weeks left of course instruction and we are short of time. In order to move more quickly I have cancelled the exam on the American Revolution. I will, instead, hand out a worksheet/quiz on the American Revolution to be completed on Monday. Over the next two weeks I will cover the additional sections on the French and Industrial Revolution but in less depth.I will hand out a review package by Friday. This package can be completed and handed in (for bonus marks) on the day students take the final exam. Students who review and make their own study notes will also be able to earn bonus marks. Please see me for further information.

Resource Management:


This unit looks at management and sustainability of resources. Topics covered include water, forests, energy, waste, fish, species extinction and land. Lectures, text information and student power point presentations will provide you with information needed to successfully understand these issues.


It is essential you review your power point presentation and be ready to present on the assigned day. During these last two weeks of classes you must prepare for the final exam by reviewing the course and the required readings. You can also go to the Ministry of Education's website and review the Geography 12 specifications, verbs used on exams, marking criteria for the essay and practice a sample Geography 12 exam. It is important you take time to do these things as it will improve your exam performance.Throughout these next few days be prepared for quick in class quizzes assessing homework completion.
